1) The over all violent crime rate is way down nationally, so that doesn't auger well for your prediction "the carnage that's coming." But there is...

2) Society is breaking down into a pre-revolutionary/anarchic chaos, above and beyond the favorable crime data. Here, your fear of the "carnage that's coming" is at least plausible. Which begs the question: Why would anyone disarm? Who & what would be viable enough to administer disarmament, including those thugs who shoot up public streets?
