(38,241 posts)new posters are banned by MIRT for "offenses" which would not even get a post hidden by a long time member - and since they were banned, then the suspicions were justified. I'd suggest it is the other way around. In many cases, rather than the ultimate banning justifying the initial suspicion, newer members who seem to know too much are banned because they were subjected to unreasonable suspicion and scrutiny.
Not to mention that your observational phrasing is the exact same way I have seen the question asked in a thread AFTER an observation has been made in MIRT that "so-and-so" sure knows a lot for someone who just joined - often accompanied by someone volunteering to check them out, popping into a thread, and "observing" that they seem to know an awful lot.
I find such observations get in the way of new people feeling welcome here, particularly because they are rarely just observations.
