KXL Veto a Strong Move
In response to news reports that President Obama will veto any Congressional legislation forcing approval of the Keystone XL pipeline, 350.org Executive Director May Boeve issued the following statement:
Its good to see the White House drawing a line in the sand on Keystone, and standing up for our climate. President Obama is right to veto politically-driven legislation that undermines the State Departments independent review process, and increases our reliance on fossil fuels. Well continue to support President Obama to stand up to Big Oil and reject Keystone XL once and for all.

Obama Stands Up For Democratic Values By Threatening To Veto Keystone XL Bill
Julie, as it relates to the Keystone pipeline, as you know, this is a project that is continuing to be subjected to a review thats conducted by the State Department. Thats consistent with past practice on projects like this.
The President, as youll recall in a speech that he delivered last summer, indicated that one of the factors in that review should be the degree to which a project like this would substantially contribute to the causes of climate change. So this is a project that is still under review by the State Department to determine whether or not its in the national interest.
But there have been previous proposals that I expect would be consistent with proposals that have been discussed overnight. And in evaluating those earlier proposals, we have indicated that the Presidents senior advisors at the White House would recommend that he veto legislation like that. But well and that does continue to be our position.
