2. What I am worried about is if our income is less than we estimate

We're going to be living on very little so I really don't want to pay more than we have to - that's why the need to adjust the estimates once we see what is actually coming in. At the preliminary estimates for our income, based on last year, we get a decent subsidy and have to pay about $225 a month for a good silver plan. I also figured a guestimate for how much we will make this year and the amounts were not far off that - but our income will certainly be less next year. So if we can adjust it during the year, we will have to pay less per month which will help our budget a LOT.

From what the lady at the HealthCare.gov line told me, it's easy to adjust our estimated income online and if our subsidy increases, it will be reflected quickly in our monthly payments. I was just wondering if anyone had actually done that. and what their results had been.
