99. A Sensible Comment, Sir

But there is an element, which can be found near-by, which is simply interested in pretending that any actions for justice in a current case, or to redress some standing or past wrong, is a danger to whites, and causes blacks to engage in attacking whites, and attempts to distort news reports to proclaim there is some nationwide wave of black terror against whites.

In the particular incident which occurred more than a week ago in the Chicago metro area, there was an improvised crime of opportunity in a park (use of a tree branch as a weapon suggests little advance planning), and one of the people arrested for it said he did it because the killing of Mr. Martin. It is clear from both the felony charges leveled, and the bail set, that this person has a criminal record of some substance (crowding in the Cook County Jail is such that just about everyone gets a recognizance bail; the standard is not 'are you likely to show up' but 'are you likely to get arrested for something before trial'). So what we have is someone who has done this sort of thing before being stupid, and on several levels, since the odds of his understanding he was talking himself into much more serious trouble by saying he did this 'for Trayyvon' rather than because 'he looked funny' or 'I wanted money' are pretty slim.
