Perhaps the small child could assist with the assembly. I used to help my dad with the VCR, ya know?

Those boxes often have too many bits in them anyway. Punter might think - "cool, spare child".

I have an entire toolbox filled with bits of Ikea thing. Baby child could make other things with them.

An entire SUBCULTURE of "spare child" creations could then flood the market with wacky furniture and Ikea would go out of business. HENCE the ban.
