Paying for dirt on a politician, and we know they do it, some of our 'Security Contractors' eg, bid on contracts to smear outspoken journalists who report on the Banking Industry, eg, and here we thought they were keeping us safe or something, is despicable and should be against the law.
It interferes with the democratic process. At least they should have to declare who they are and what conflicts of interest they have. And who is funding them.
And candidates should sue them so that they are exposed in courtrooms where they can't lie. Even if they lose, the process can be used to put their faces on the front pages. Suits can be dropped after the election. Meantime they can be confronted and let the public see the deceptions big money is paying for to try to influence their choices.
