66. 'The press doesn't' because our Representatives allowed Corporations to take over the press.

I am a huge fan of the 1st Amendment. It protects the Press which is why a #1 issue for the public is to restore at least the Fairness Doctrine so we can start going back to Real Journalists, not memo readers such as we have on all of our 'news' media now

A real journalist would have reported accurately on Allen's remarks and it wouldn't have cost millions of dollars.

There is a real danger to these private agenda driven groups. If both sides are doing it with an agenda involved, it's a wash, isn't it? We take one of their guys and they take out one of ours. Turning politics into a childish game of 'gotcha'.

Whereas real journalism reporting from a neutral standpoint, informing of the public position, gives the people unbiased information they can then use effectively.

They lower the political discourse also, pitting people against each other sometimes blindly defending things they might normally defend if they didn't suspect it was the 'enemy' who was 'lying' about their candidate.

Too much 'managing' of the population in terms of attempting to influence with stuff to sway them this way or that, distracting from what is really important. which is why trust in our government is at such an all time low. The people know they are being managed.
