In place to cover renters from being taken advantage of or being victimized by homeowners not paying their mortgage. He has rights in our state, he cannot just be thrown out.

They have passed laws recently giving landlords a hell of a lot of rights over tenants.

Standard practice in these cases is to give tenants 90 days rent free so they can save for a move.
