On a cold January morning, a posse led by a former Army company commander named Matt Shea rolled into the Harney County Courthouse and wanted to speak to the sheriff.

But this wasn’t a group of militants, or outlaws. They were state lawmakers from four western states, including Oregon. Most of them were members of a group called the Coalition of Western States, or COWS.

They were hoping to talk directly with Sheriff David Ward and convince him to support the armed militants at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. Instead, COWS members would meet that day with a Harney County deputy and a sheriff from another county, an FBI agent and other local officials.

Fiore Asserts Bundy Terrorists Were Just 'Camping At The Refuge'

NV Republican Assemblywoman and gun-obsessed pin up girl, Michele Fiore has outdone herself this time. If you thought the insanity of her claim that cancer is merely a fungus was too nutty to fathom, her current definition of the outdoor pastime of camping now includes armed insurrection.

The Federal Government had this all wrong, according to Fiore. She sat down with a Las Vegas Sun reporter, Chris Kudialis. I must admit, he kept a straight face throughout the interview as the assertions became increasingly more ludicrous. ........ Kudialis wanted to know to what extent she'd go to defend people who were taking over a wildlife area, and pointing guns at federal officials. ..... First she corrected him.

FIORE: So, they didn't take over the refuge, they were camping there. ......
