Not only did they lobby to get schools to have to purchase, but you can't buy a single epipen any longer. You can only buy them in packs of 2. Why? Mylan lobbied for the FDA to change their recommendation from 'carry 1' to 'carry 2' because in a strong reaction, sometimes it requires 2 doses to reverse the histamine. So they repackaged them in 2s and doubled the price - even before the price increases started in earnest back in 2010.
