We can't take care of our citizens when they get sick. We can't have good schools with well-paid, motivated professional teachers. We can't maintain our road systems. We can't staff the DMV so that renewing your license isn't an all-day ordeal. And about a kajllion other things, because we need to buy million-dollar projectiles to blast people to Kingdom Come.
