Both good luck and bad, depending on the situation, along the lines of the 'paddy wagon' which referred to both the passengers and the officers who arrested them (Irish cops in America go way back--why do you think the cops in Bugs Bunny cartoons are always called Callahan or Muldoon?) But that's another story...
