Given the intense upcoming election season, they are likely unwilling to put their name on ANYTHING even REMOTLY polarizing for fear of losing votes. Politics nowadays is not about representing constituents or leading a nation... it's about building a pocket-lining political career and getting reelected year after year. Most politicians would proudly proclaim the sky is brown if they tought it would help their polling numbers.
