As far as I can tell Jeff Sessions is still driving the bus over at Justice, still demanding maximum sentences, still ramping up civil forfeiture and still on his crusade against the Devil Weed. As long as Sessions has a job, I'm not sure what difference it makes whether Trump says nice things about him in the Times.
For all I know the whole thing may be a coordinated strategy to make Sessions look more independent.
