But to me, it's not so important how much decision making he did at Bain post 1999. What's important is that the image of him as a shady corporate raider and slick con man has already been fixed in the average voter's mind. Between his policy flip-flopping, contradictory stories and facts about post-1999 Bain, and his obvious and caught out lies about Obama, and his refusal to say what he would REALLY do if elected --- well Romney's just generally perceived as untrustworthy. If Geo Will is wringing his hands over selling Mitt, ya gotta know that the GOP leadership is pissing their pants over him too.
