5. Why? Look at the assholes that get put into office.

Look at all the barriers raised to keep poor folks of all colors from voting. They just don't give a damn about their most vulnerable citizens. They'd rather let them be debilitated by undiagnosed internal parasites so they can call them shiftless.

One thing that did help was the cheap rubber flipflop, cheap enough for even poor kids to have shoes in summer. Unfortunately, those didn't compensate for dirty water or bad sanitation. And that is why infection rates are on the rise again.
