General Discussion

Chaos, is now the order of the day, much of it is natural, but much more of it is intentional and for the sake of those in power.
Were seeing The Shock Doctrine
at work, others here have noted. Of course, theyre right.
Were all being disoriented and divided in order that some would take advantage. Those would be both those that already have advantages and those that serve the agendas.
Why do we need a tax cut that would effectively balloon the deficit?
Whats the point of destroying Net Neutrality?
Why are we deporting legal refugees?
Why are we destroying the health care of millions of people?
Why are we condemning millions of college students and their families to years of crushing debt?
Why are we attacking peaceful protesters and ignoring the reasons why they protest?
Why are we sowing fear and dread of foreign adversaries and of strangers at home?
Why are we urged to be afraid of our own shadows?
We are all being isolated, distracted, discouraged, disheartened and mis-informed on a daily basis. Not by some centralized nefarious entity, but by a gradual, self-inflicted breakdown of a general order which is supposed to serve the common good.
Were doing this to ourselves. We chose to create our own monsters.
If anything, were headed towards some tipping point, one in which mass chaos will be the order of the day and everyone will be forced to participate in some kind of general correction. In the past, these types of things never bode well for the weak and powerless and demagogues arise. We were never powerless to stop people like Trump or Roy Moore, we can still stop them if we choose to.
Its easy to see who the demagogues are, theyre the ones who operate beyond the rule of law with impunity. Unless the masses of people stay informed, unafraid and stand together, the demagogues will take advantage of us. Theyll take that advantage because we gave it to them.
Collectively, weve had many chances to stop this from happening, but too many of us chose the worst of our choices.
How else can it be possible that an entire state has come to the point of equivocating over whether or not they should choose between a demagogic child molester or a Democrat?
I hate to be the one to say this, but weve yet to bottom out. Its going to get a whole lot worse before we collectively choose to dispense with the polarization and work toward an egalitarian common good. If were still competing for a diminishing pool of resources, that will only serve those who are hoarding more than they can use.
This is the theft of the future here. If we cant all see that, then were truly blind.
