10. Contrary to popular and trendy urban myth, Hitler also expanded gun ownership

Contrary to popular and trendy urban myth (oddly enough, a myth authored by America's own Wayne Pierre of the NRA), the Weimar Republic (which preceded Hitler's Germany) was much more strict in its allowance of gun laws.

Hitler greatly expanded gun ownership via his adopted of the 1938 Gun Law which deregulated the buying and selling of rifles, shotguns and ammunition. It made handguns easier to own by allowing anyone with a hunting license to buy, sell or carry one at any time. (You didn’t need to be hunting.) It also extended the permit period from one year to three and gave local officials more discretion in letting people under 18 get a gun.

The also did a bang-up job in keeping guns out of the hands of criminals (which included the gay and Jewish communities, making them de-facto 'bad guys with guns,' the typical end-all argument for the slow-witted).
