(57,936 posts)Because he is the best candidate running and because more than Hillary, he stands for Democratic values of fairness, of honoring the wishes of the ordinary person.
Because he stands against and refuses corporate money in politics.
Because he stands against trade agreements written by and representing and protecting the interests of big, corporate money and not of working people.
Because he understands that most of the jobs for people who don't have college degrees consist of waiting tables, stocking shelves or manning the cash registers in stores, cleaning including cleaning toilets, cooking food, delivering packages (my neighbor does this and has a college degree), etc. and that the jobs that used to require just a high school diploma now require a college degree. And for that reason, he is proposing that state colleges and universities be tuition free.
Because he wants single payer health insurance since he understands that we tend to need insurance the most when we are least able to pay for it, that is when we can't work and earn money because we are sick.
Because he cares about veterans and not just about the defense industry.
Because he cares about women's issues and will strongly defend the right to choose.
Because he cares about seniors and will not allow Social Security to be privatized.
Because he will break up the big banks and make sure that the risk of failure of financial disaster is lessened by spreading risk out among a variety of investment and banking models and companies.
Because he will support small savings accounts and checking accounts through the post office in order to end the payday lending scandal.
Because he will invest in repairing our failing infrastructure.
Because he has spent many years in Congress, knows the members of Congress on both sides of the aisle very well and will not stir up the animosity and set off another eight years of do-nothingness in Congress like Hillary will and like Obama did (not Obama's fault).
Because he has years of executive experience as mayor of Burlington, Vermont.
Because the Democrats in Vermont who know him best voted 86% in favor of his nomination.
Because he is the best candidate for president we have had in the 72 years of my lifetime.
Because he won't pick that alleged war criminal, Henry Kissinger, as his adviser on foreign policy.
Because his stands on every issue are far better than Hillary's.
Because he is honest.
Because he is leading a revolution for gentle change and that is what we need.
