(10,345 posts)If she were being told she only felt that way because of her gender, then bam, sexist.
But as it is, this was a person telling another person how they felt. Which is just assertive and rude.
Would it be sexist if a man told another man how they actually felt? No.
Would it be sexist if a woman told a man how they actually felt? No.
But if that woman said, "oh you only feel that way because of testosterone or whatever" then it's sexist.
Just like Trump saying Megyn only felt that way because she must be bleeding from where ever, THAT is sexist.
Your definition of what sexism is, is inaccurate and it's just as ignorant as calling a white person racist for having a simple argument with a black person about who actually got the parking space. Oh they're of different races! Doesn't matter, their disagreement had nothing to do with it. They're simply people arguing.
You accusing things like this as sexist is asinine and it minimizes all the important things feminists are actually fighting for. You want to call sexism on that? Way to make us feminists look out of our minds. If the content is not rooted in sexism or have anything to do with gender, then it isn't sexist in the least.
You could try to make the argument that the guy is sexist, but again, that's just throwing labels on people without any proof if the content of the offending act had nothing to do with gender.
Women are not weak, they don't need the victim card played so lightly anytime they are confronted by a man. So until you see actual gender entrenched content, it's not sexist.
