I parked in my friend's steep driveway. No one ever told me it had to be in gear. When I left her house, my car was gone. It had rolled down her driveway and crashed into a tree. I guess it could have been worse...
It's not an intuitive thing--parking in neutral seems to make sense, if you don't know better. And, there are a lot less people in this generation familiar with standard transmission.
