My point is that you said that prosecuting these men would deter other athletes from reporting a crime committed against them. There was no crime committed against these athletes. It was they who committed a crime (TBD), not any Brazilian assailants.

Perhaps this incident will give athletes pause in the future before they concoct an easily disproved lie to explain away their own behavior. That would be a good thing.
