If it's necessary to avoid an incident to pre-emptively inform Russia, who we would naturally expect would turn around and inform their close ally Assad, why even bother at all with shooting off missiles in the first place?
Hey people of Syria, we care about you being gassed, so here's a couple of craters in an empty Syrian airbase. You're welcome.
Any way you slice it, it's just pointless showmanship that serves as a convenient political distraction for Trump and a pathetic attempt for him to claim that he's his own man.
