I had problems with Comey before, but his recent deceitful testimony characterizing his only choices as "speak" or "conceal" was beyond the pale. Rosenstein's letter, posted above, provides an excellent response...

"Conceal" is a loaded term that misstates the issue. When federal agents and prosecutors quietly open a criminal investigation, we are not concealing anything; we are simply following the longstanding policy that we refrain from publicizing non-public information. In that context, silence is not concealment.


Rosenstein's entire letter should be reviewed, as it provides excellent justification for Comey's removal, at a minimum.


p.s. I accept that Trump's motives may not match the detailed points offered in the letter; that doesn't mean Comey shouldn't be removed... or investigated.
