Trump takes another shot at Cory Booker

WASHINGTON a For the second time in three days, President Donald Trump went after U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, an opponent of putting Judge Brett Kavanaugh on the U.S. Supreme Court.

During a White House press conference Monday to announce a new free trade agreement with Canada and Mexico, Trump criticized Booker, D-N.J., a potential 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and an opponent of Kavanaugh's nomination.

"Take a look at Cory Booker," Trump said. "He ran Newark, New Jersey, into the ground; he was a horrible mayor; and he made statements that when he was in high school or college what he was doing. He actually made the statements. And now he's talking about Judge Kavanaugh."
