The judges traveled to Indianapolis April 30 to attend a judicial conference the next day. Around 3 a.m. May 1, the judges, along with another magistrate who was not involved in the fight, tried to enter the Red Garter Gentleman's Club in Downtown, but it was closed. They went to the nearby White Castle at 55 W. South St. instead.

They were standing outside the WC when two men drove past them. One yelled something at them. Adams gave them the finger. They parked the car, got out and a fight ensued. Both Adams and Jacob were eventually shot in the abdomen by one of the other men. The shooter goes on trial in January. Adams pleaded to a misdemeanor, and got a year (suspended), as did the other guy from the car.

I bet the Indy district attorney got an early wake-up call that day!
