23. Why would you deny Raw Story the viewership?

Never understood how we eat our own.
Raw Story has been around for a long time. Back before I joined DU , If I remember right, it was one of the few liberal news source sites. That and Bartcop. I was "woke" because of Raw Story.

Do they write all their own stories? No. So what? Do they use ads? Yes. So does DU, (if you are not a member) They have that in common with DU, not the same exact format, but similar in that they gather news stories in one place, a place a more liberal or Democratic leaning person can view pertinent stories for that spectrum, and comment on.

Your action is like, say, someone on another liberal site, like Daily Kos posting a link to a DU page that is posting a news story, like this one. And someone bristling at that and posting the original link to prevent linking to DU.

When that person goes to DU to view the story, they are helping this site pay their bills. They help, in general, sustain liberal news access on the internet. With so much of the media in right wing hands, we need to support our brother and sister sites, and sustain every liberal source to important news.
It also helps to pay for their own reporters. Something DU does not do, independent journalism. Paid for by subscribers.
