is a whole deal. I remember that not that many years ago if a farmer had a sick cow that was near death you were still allowed to ship it for slaughter if the animal could be made to stand on its' own before being hauled away. Think about that the next time you see hamburger from an unknown country of origin that likely has even lower regulations.
