14. I cross the border a lot.

the last time I walked across the El Norte Bridge there were armed Nacionales all over the Central District in Juarez. My own opinion is that as long as there is demand. for illegal drugs the problem will exist with drug cartels. The USA has been their main source of income for all my life. The "War on Drugs has been an epic failure for over 60 years. We should have learned this from our own experience with prohibition of alcohol. The percentage of the US population that used alcohol increased during prohibition. Meanwhile, it seems that it is easier to bash Mexico than face the harsh reality that banning substances does not work. Addiction is a public health problem, not a criminal one. Poor Mexico:"So far from God and so close to the USA."
