I grew up poor. I had to go to school with mostly middle-class children. It is incredibly embarrassing to sit with children eating their nicely prepared meals or hot lunches while I sat there and ate ketchup sandwiches or sometimes nothing at all. There is a cost...the cost is to the children's health as well as their mental and social well-being. One thing we have learned about Republicans...and they re-enforce daily...they only care about zygotes. They do not care about human beings...regardless of age, color of their skin, or whatever strife they are going through.
