If a socialist and a fascist each wanted to support it, they were in no position to say, "No, we'd rather die than be ideologically tainted by accepting your help." That kind of thing is a boutique luxury only available to those who really don't need the help.

When being rescued from a burning building, you don't ask who the person voted for--"Sorry, you voted for Trump, get your hands off of me, what would my friends say if I lived because a Trump supporter rescued me?"
