(125,443 posts)The transportation bill will come first since it is the most urgent and can get bipartisan support.
The death penalty bill isn't that huge of an issue.
The abortion bill(s), let's remember that two were already killed in the calendar process, will be set after the transportation bill but with plenty of time to get it passed. There will be ample time for any filibuster to fall apart. No matter how many people are there to protest the Republicans will ram this bill down our throats and will cheat to win if necessary. The only way to win is to keep either chamber from having the two-thirds necessary to form a quorum. The legislators could try to leave the state, but then the governor gains the upper hand by declaring that Democrats are obstructionists.
The special session will cost $1.2 million, and a few million more will be spent on lawsuits because the Republicans have to have their way.
