Just think about your coke with ice drink. the drink will stay cool as long as there is ice. The very moment the last piece of ice melts, the temperature will start rising. Wait until the last piece of polar ice melts down, then start recording global temperatures. Until then, all you will notice is climate change, not temperature change. You are not considering heat transfer. Heat transfer can produce change of state (ice to water, water to vapor), and temperature change. I think you know that global warming is a multiple stage process. We are in the ice melting stage. Think about heat transfer, not temperature change.
