In reply to the discussion: Seattle Seahawks stop Broncos, now Super Bowl champion [View all]MFM008
(20,042 posts)66. shock and awe
I live in a small town not far from Tacoma, WA. We had moved to Wa in 1973- Seahawks were formed a few years later. Every Seahawks game my parents would watch and if they lost my dad would get furious and go in his room the rest of the night.
He passed away in 2000. I wished he would have seen this season is all I can think about. When we won Sunday night, fireworks went off like July 4. People yelling and carrying on outside ( this is a town that quiet and older). I guess its easy to think its no big deal, I even have friends here that hate sports.
It was a great game, a great season and a real thrill for those of us especially who were there in the beginning....38 years ago...what a ride.
