260. In my 16, almost 17 years of being in the delivery room, I disagree with this.

Most babies, when we finally get them off the mother's chest and to the warmer to do the weighing and measuring, etc., are already smacking their lips and shoving their fingers and fists in their mouths and rooting for something to suck on. It's a reflex. It's not necessarily stimulated by hunger (they are saturated with amniotic fluid which helps to keep their blood glucose levels stable), but it is there and the La Leche League and the AAP agree, initiating breastfeeding within an hour after birth is the ideal to shoot for.
