(36,714 posts)10. My understanding from talking to pilots is that this is an easy mistake to make.
Particularly for pilots not all that familiar with the area and unexpected visibility problems occur.

yea sure a cessna but let a jumbo jet turn off it's transponder turn around and head for n.y.c.

That's a load of crap. Payne Stewart's rogue lear jet was prior to 9/11. A jet was scrambled ASAP ...

So they weren't contacted by the FAA to intercept the flight? Which orifice did you pull that from?
