On Saturday about 150 open-carriers took their weapons to a North Richland Hills Home Depot parking lot for a gun-rights rally. Turns out, one day earlier the National Rifle Association more or less asked them not to do it.
A post on the NRAs Institute for Legislative Action website reiterates an earlier joint statement issued by Come and Take It Texas, Texas Carry, Gun Rights Across America and Open Carry Texas: Demonstrators bringing long guns into Chipotle and Chilis is really, really bad for business. And its starting to look weird. And its degenerating into downright foolishness.
Texas, says the post from the NRAs lobbying arm, is second to none for its robust gun culture. And thats great, says the NRA. Except in this instance.
