Any questionable case of self defense with a firearm that MIGHT involve "stand your ground" makes instant national attention.

While such incidents occur the ones that actually are not legitimate self defense but instead murder are few and far between. Also a person charged of murdering another individual will use any argument his lawyer suggests and that often includes a "stand your ground" defense. Usually this tactic fails in court and he is convicted.

However I do believe that the "stand your ground" law in Florida needs to be rewritten to correct some ambiguities in the wording that currently exist.
