"Everybody's doing it!" is an excuse. An attempt to say "this is okay because someone else is doing it!" - that's not the argument being made here.
Rather, the argument being made is that there's no particular reason to "go after" Muslims, as you seem to wish. Yes, there have been attacks and murders by Muslim assholes. There have been far more committed by Christian, however.
This doesn't make either okay, but it does take the wind out of your anti-Muslim fearmongering.
