(2,741 posts)of the methods the Church leaders use to keep their flock - fear, separation, and hate. As is taught today, the basic message of Christianity is: "something bad will happen to you after you die, and we have the only prevention. And if you don't believe as we do, then something bad will happen to you. And those people over there are out to get you." So the premise starts with fear of the unknown, and, to reinforce it, the Church leaders introduce persecution and sin to keep the flock scared, in line, and not asking too many questions. And those who ask too many questions get pitched out as heretics real quick. They need blind faith to make the machine work. What that becomes is blind rage and fear. And, I will add, this is polar opposite of what Jesus taught, but for sure, do not even say that to them.
