to create printed-ballot verification for elections -- a receipt for the voter and one for the polling place. Of course there is no guarantee that the numbers that get sent in aren't swapped, but the paper output can be used to double check immediately that they haven't.

Seems like there would be big money in it for a company that could figure it out and they seem to already have something really close, that is accurately checking millions of entries in a single night towards a jackpot
