In the wake of the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal (now THERE was a witch hunt), he was pretty much licking his lips over what he thought would be a huge rethug victory. Not so much, and he ended up resigning as Speaker. And let's not forget he was cheating on his 2nd wife with Calista at the time. I think he's lost what little sense he had left. They over-reached then, and I think they're doing it again. They never seem to learn to not poke the sleeping bear. Thankfully.
