It may allow the prosecutor to trot out all the evidence in open court that is most damning to Trump, will embarrass the DA for not filing charges and allow the publication of the book that will be getting major PR thru all of it. Most people shrink from getting sued but not sure that works for a hard edged prosecutor. I suspect Trump is just hoping the threat stops or slows the book's publication but doubt a suit seeking to stop publication, assuming the book is truthful, will be successful.
