And the story came to its logical conclusion, as the house was sold. So at least it didn't get "axed" by some network suit. Comparing it to most of today's television illustrates the gigantic drop in quality of most TV over the past 40 years. There is a new version of Upstairs, Downstairs in production in England, and Jean Marsh is in it and I believe is one of the producers, but as far as I know the new series has no American distribution deal yet. http://www.updown.org.uk/epguide/newshow.htm
