My Dad died on November 30th, his birthday is January 22nd. And on the night of his birthday, late at night, smoke alarms kept going off in the house though no one was smoking or baking or cooking. Then the horn on his car which was parked in the driveway started blasting and wouldn't stop. That had never happened before, either. I'd like to think that my father dropped in - it certainly seemed coincidental.
