(71,736 posts)25. My great-great-great-great grandfather was a man named Bright W. Hargrove.
He was part of the Georgia state delegation that drafted and signed Georgia's Articles of Secession before the Civil War. Not especially proud of that.
His daughter, named Fanny, is reportedly one of Margaret Mitchell's inspirations for Scarlett O'Hara.
Not necessarily something I'm proud of, either...
