The one person I'm thinking of used rugs everywhere to "protect the floors". To me that's like my grandmother having plastic on all her furniture.

I tend to think of it as "decorative firewood", since it does burn rather nicely.

I have hardwood floors but put on my Bunny slippers in the morning to keep my feet warm.
