That is, according to their reasoning on why to cancel it: people had to pay attention to it. They couldn't be doing something else, with it on in the background because they had to actively pay attention to what was being said and shown. To the suits, that was too much to ask of your average American TV-watching audience.
I guess they also don't seem to have a problem, then, with the fact that people are not paying attention to the commercials! You'd think they would have noticed that flaw in their statement...
I don't have it memorized like you and Initech, so I think I may have to Netflix it and makes some "copies"
Remember the "shootout" between Drebin and whoever the bad guy was, where they were separated by only about five feet?
