4. Yes, it is a marshy/seaweedy area, but I doubt it ever freezes.

It just doesn't get quite that cold over there (that I'm aware of). The first photo is actually looking out over the southern end of Bodega Bay, just north of Tomales Bay.

If you have GoogleEarth installed, the coordinates where I took the first shot are: 38°19'22.92"N 123° 2'17.60"W

The second was taken at Nick's Cove, on Tomales Bay: 38°12'3.69"N 122°55'18.00"W
